Using the TRIGEN INTERTAN System, your surgeon will insert a specially shaped metal rod down the central canal of your thigh bone. This rod is called an intramedullary (Intra-med-u-larry) nail.

Step 3

Once the rod is in place, your surgeon puts the compression screws through the nail and your femoral neck and then into your hip head. As these two screws are turned, they pull your femoral head and neck back into place and hold the bones in position as they heal.

Step 4

After your surgeon is satisfied that the bones are in the right position and tightly compressed together, he or she will close the incision.
