Therapeutic mastectomy and reduction mammoplasty are both considered to be common procedures,1,2 but surgical site complications (SSCs), often associated with certain patient risk factors,3 can lead to substantial additional costs,4,5 potential delays to adjuvant treatment6,7 and a reduction in scar quality8
Closed Surgical incisions
Historically, during a meniscal repair procedure, stitches were placed from the knee's interior and incisions were made at the joint line to allow the tying of knots.
In recent years, instrumentation has been introduced that includes pre-loaded surgical implants and pre-tied knots, designed to facilitate meniscal repair without the need for additional incisions.
